ella&il was founded in 2014 by sisters-in-law Lene and Rikke, driven by a simple idea: making it effortless for women to feel chic and comfortable every day. Inspired by their own busy lives, they created a high-quality wardrobe essentials that blend Scandinavian minimalism with a touch of French elegance. It all started with the perfect white T-shirt, and today, ella&il has grown into a premium brand with a strong presence in Scandinavia. Like many women, they juggled busy careers and family life, with little time to focus on fashion. They noticed a gap in the market: essentials that felt as good as they looked, with flattering cuts, premium fabrics, and a touch of French flair. So, they decided to stop searching and start creating.

When we founded ella&il in 2014, our vision was clear: to create a seasonless wardrobe that transcends fleeting trends and embraces timeless style. We saw firsthand how fashion moves fast— but we wanted to slow it down and focus on what truly matters: quality, longevity, and effortless elegance. Designed in Norway and deeply rooted in the Scandinavian way of living, ella&il is a blend of minimalism, conscious luxury, and elevated ease. Every piece is carefully crafted from the finest, sustainably sourced materials—including merino wool, soft cashmere, mohair, and organic cotton— ensuring both comfort and durability.
